does having a cell phone build credit?

misscassie1226 asked:

Does having a cell phone( the kind with a monthly plan, NOT a prepaid) and paying your bill every month build your credit?

Nope, but you can use it in some circumstances to give info. to a lender or when applying for say a credit card. Remember, just because it doesn’t report what you’ve done good, does not mean they won’t report to your credit when you owe them money. Keep it current!

No it doesn’t. Bad credit can either mean you can’t get one in your name, or if you can you have to pay anywhere from 200-1,000 just to activate it in your name. They don’t build credit though. Credit cards(if used correctly), car payments, and loan payments in general will help/hurt your credit.

no they take away credit when mis a payment.
