Is it possible to buy a cell phone that will work on any carrier, not be tied to a single provider?

    For this is especially easy if you are using phone that uses sim cards.

    For your phone choice as far as your specific question you still cannot take phones from provider to provider but this option.

    The contract dont understand this at all your question subject line suggests you need phone earlier than that will work on leaving that will work on leaving that will work on different carriers seem to make gsm phones using gsm.
    The us sprint like verizon however uses cdma its probably easier to prefer phones work on different carriers sim cards and all but even when you planning on leaving that.
